Meet Oliver & James

Oliver and James are the people we aspire to be around — the kind who make the world a little better just by being part of it. You probably already know someone like them. They're the friends who show up to a dinner party with a bottle worth talking about, not because they're showing off, but because they genuinely love the stuff — the wine, the food, the people around the table, the whole evening. They're sophisticated without being stiff about it. They know their Pinot from their Syrah, but they'd rather argue about which one to open next than lecture you on either.
They're fun. They're social. And they're unapologetically themselves — the kind of people who order what they actually like, not what looks impressive on the label. That's the spirit we built the shop around: good taste in service of a good time, not the other way around.
Oliver and James are who we're pouring for. They're the standard behind everything we choose to sell, and the reason for it: when a box from us shows up, we want it to feel like a couple of good friends just sent over something great — the kind of people whose company, and whose taste, makes things better.

Great wine shouldn't require a big budget or a wine-industry insider to find it. Oliver and James exists to hand you both the bottle and the reason it's worth opening — at a price that lets you actually do that on a Tuesday, not just for grand celebrations.

WHY WE EXIST

Here's the part of the wine business most people never see: a bottle can pass through a distributor, a broker, an importer, and a retailer before it ever reaches a shelf — and every one of those stops adds a markup. By the time a wine is sitting on a shelf under a well-known vineyard label costing two or three times what we charge, most of that difference has nothing to do with what's in the bottle.
We thought that was a bad deal for people who just want to drink well without a special occasion or a big budget attached to it. So we built Oliver and James to work directly with winemakers and producers, cutting out as many of those middle layers as we can, and passing the savings on rather than pocketing them. Same quality grapes, same skilled winemaking, same care in the cellar — just without the extra hands each bottle usually passes through, and without the extra cost that comes with them.
That's the whole premise: exceptional wine, honestly priced, because we removed the parts of the system that never should have been there in the first place.
